Rail operators are today renting Entur’s portable solution based on a Pidion BM180A handheld computer in conjunction with Verifone VX 690 portable payment device for onboard ticket sales and control. The two units are connected over Bluetooth. Entur’s application running the Pidion is using the VX 690 as a printer, and the Pidion is sharing its network connection with the VX 690. Entur intends to conclude a new contract for purchase or rental of new mobile terminals in the early part of 2019, followed by an acceptance test and pilot period before rollout Q2/Q3 2019. Entur also intends to enter in a long-term agreement for repair and replacement of the units. With regards to the above procurement, Entur wishes to obtain up-to-date information about the market for solutions capable of meeting our needs.
