Brief
Sporveien current tamping machine shall be replaced with a new machine. Performance and impact on surrounding systems will be about the same as before, but exhaust emissions and noise is expected to be lower than before. The machine shall be equipped with CBTC and modern control systems and measuring equipment. The Tamping Machine is a self-propelled, rail-running machine with a driver's compartment at both ends. The machine normally has a permanent crew of three or four people on the machine. The machine is equipped with CBTC and can be driven in mixed traffic to the workplace. The track is normally closed at the workplace, but the machine can strictly be operated without closing the track.
